BY JORDYN PAUL-SLATER// New Jersey born singer and songwriter Bea Miller is performing at the 9:30 Club this coming Monday.
At 13 years old, Miller came ninth place on season 2 of the X Factor. Soon after, she signed to Hollywood Records and started releasing her own music. Her first album Not An Apology, released in 2015,offered a blend of rock instrumentals with a certain pop flare. However, she drifted away from this style with her release of her second album Aurora that leans more on a pop foundation.Regardless of her changing style, Bea Miller’s lyrical strength and vocal talent makes every project she creates spectacular.
Personally, I was a little late on the Bea Miller train. I always knew of her and her songs,
but never made an effort to listen to her discography until her most recent release of ‘It’s Not
You It’s Me’ featuring one of my favorite RnB artists, 6lack. The single blew me away with its
enchanting harmonies and catchy, rhythmic hook. I simply had to check out the rest of her
work. Safe to say, I was impressed. I personally adore Aurora; I’ve had ‘outside’ on repeat for
the past couple months.
I’m really excited to see what’s she going to do at her show. I’m sure it’s going to be
nothing less than amazing.
